NVS AUDIO AWARDS 2010 -2011

The past 3 years have been great for NVS Audio!
Carlos Passed the Master Mecp exam (only master certified installer in the state of New Jersey)
He also passed the Product specialist, Advanced, and Basic.
Carlos got voted Top 100 installers in the United States for 2010 and 2011 !!!

Carlos has also passed the Viper snake pit certification, Compustar pro certification, Kicker training.

Carlos also hold a degree in Electronics from RETS institute of technology.

In the past 5 years NVS AUDIO has over 200 first place finishes and Magazine features from car shows all over the East coast with cars we have built (especially AJ's firebird featured in Performance Pontiac and Sean's Jetta feature in EURO Tuner)

With all of NVS AUDIO's certifications, awards, etc.. it really make us a tough team to beat. We take a lot of pride in our work and we really love what we do. IPAD 2 VS. The Motorola Xoom !!!!

This by far has been my favorite head to head comparison that I have done so far!! The Xoom by Motorola is the only thing that has come anywhere near close to matching the Apple IPAD in looks, functionality, battery life, ease of use, everything you can think of Motorola has thought of.

We will start with the few things that it does better than the Ipad2.

Plays Adobe flash, so more website will load on the xoom (IPAD does not support flash at all)

Docks in landscape mode !!!!  J  (I love my ipads but docking in landscape would be a plus for typing and watching movies while charging)

Port for added flash memory on top of the internal memory it comes with and file transfer (with the ipad you cannot add memory and you have to dock and sync to transfer files)

Negative points for the Xoom are :

Price $600 for the wifi only XOOM vs. $500 for the WI FI only IPAD2  (IPAD wins)  

$800 for the 3g 32gb $729 for the Apple 32gb WIFI IPAD2  (IPAD wins again)

Single mono speaker mounted on the back L at least it plays pretty loud (Ipad has 2 stereo speakers on bottom)

NO AV COMPOSITE OR COMPONENT VIDEO OUT!!!!!!!!!!      HDMI video out only and the Motorola HDMI video cable isn’t even out for the XOOM yet!!!!!! (This is a BIG deal to me because we install these in cars and need a composite video out to feed to the other screens in the car!) The Ipad offers component, composite , and HDMI out!!!!!!

Only does audio out from the headphone jack (IPAD does audio out from the headphone jack and the dock connector)

No ITunes type music store

This that they tie in:

Battery life is AAAAAAAAAAA+++++++ on both the Xoom and the Ipad over a week on a single charge on each under normal use!!!!

Speed !!! They are both super fast using You Tube, Netflix , Pandora, or just plain web surfing they are both super fast.

Touch screen, they both have very responsive touch screens, great short cut keys and swipes. The Ipad auto rotates a bit faster but I’m not gonna nit pick, Motorola did a great job.

In closing:

The Xoom by Motorola is the next best thing to an Apple Ipad 2 or a great alternative to an Ipad. I was not surprised that Motorola built the only unit on the market that can keep up with the ipad since they are the only company that was able to build a great droid phone. Motorola  was the king of the cell phone market for years (until the Iphone came along J) So they have the money , development team , and the knowhow to build great products. I love the Xoom and look forward it installing it in many of my customer’s Cars and Trucks (unlike the Samsung Galaxy Tab that did not do too we against the Ipad in our last head to head test).  Motorola Great job on this on, Apple you are still in the lead, but you need to step it up now that you have competition from a worthy advisory.

Apple Ipad vs Samsung Galaxy Tab

I currently own 3 Ipads (one for the house Ipad 2 32gb 3g, one for my Escalade 64gb 3g, and one for my shop to demo for customers 16gb wifi) I picked up the 3g Galaxy tab so i could get to know it (we do alot of ipad installs here are the shop www.nvsaudio.com and the 10 inch ipad just does not fit in every dash) so i wanted to give my customers a 7 inch option (galaxy tab) to the ipad. The Galaxy tab is a small powerful cute little device, but it is over weight (heavier than the ipad even though the ipad is bigger!) The google os works well will all google apps , but that is about it. It is much slower than the Ipad, the keyboard is the most annoying i have ever used (typing in numbers in particular ) but the worst thing about the Galaxy tab Battery Life !!!!! or the lack there of ;-(     2 hours under normal use!!!?????? I get over 10 hours on the ipad!!!! for 2 hours of battery life i am better of using my more powerful laptop !! But in the Galaxy's defence if you are gonna have it installed in a car this is really a non issue . Most of the google apps are free and work well, (on the ipad you have to pay for almost everything most apps are a dollar or two thanks god) google maps works great for navigation and integrates seamlessly with google contacts and your phone book. You tube is slow and choppy on the Galaxy tab but silky smooth on the ipad. The google web browser is clunky and confusing on the Tab, the safari browser on the ipad is great, and super easy to use. The audio output on the ipad is slightly much better than the one on the tab, but then again they have been making ipod for years now so it is no wonder they have this mastered. As far as easy of use, my 3 year old godson picks up the ipad , pushed the home button, slides the onscreen slider to the left, touches his games folder and begins to enjoy his favorite games... On the Galaxy tab he can't even figure out how to turn it on ;-(   (you don't want to upset a 3 year old with a $700 electronic device in his hand lol)     Even  with some thing as simple as rotating the screen from portrait to landscape mode the ipad does it flawlessly , the Galaxy Tab gets confused and stuck and when it finally does rotate it take forever. I'm not giving up on the Galaxy tab (i love the 7 inch size , i can literally take it anywhere!!!) hopefully the next software update will take care of some of the glitches, but i'm not trading in my ipad any time soon, it is just too close to perfect. I will upload video of my side by side comparison of both units soon, below i will post some of our install pics of the tab and ipads.

Bmw Z3 build

We did a simple clean build for one of our customers
The car was pretty sick to start with:

 Custom dark blue paint
full body kit
18 inch custom wheels
7 inch flipout touch screen
but nothing hot in the trunk.
so we hooked him up.
whole trunk wrapped in suede
nintendo wii
20 inch lcd tv molded into the trunk lid
along with 2 speakers for passing the time at car shows
and car club funtions.
