2007 Subaru WRX STI Audio system build & install

We started with a Kenwood excellon dnx9960 double din touch screen dvd navigation unit (Excellon headunits have 5 volt rca pre outs )

The DNX6960 is a Full Featured All-in-One Navigation/DVD Entertainment System Featuring:

6.1" Touchscreen with Customizable Start-up
Built-in Garmin Navigation
Eco Route
NAVTEQ Traffic Ready w/ KNA-NT100
High Speed Access to iPhone/iPod Audio and Video
Built-in Parrot Bluetooth for Hands-free Cell Phone Operation
3 5V Preamp Outputs
2 A/V Inputs (1 dedicated for iPod/iPhone use), 1A/V Ouptput, 1 Backup Camera Input
Multi Language Capability
New Remote Control

Then we fed signal into the Audison Bit One (front, rear and sub) from the bit one we fed ch 1,2,3 and 4 into the kenwood excellon XR4s (120 watts x 4 @ 4 ohms)
ch 1 and 2 front left and right driving a set of jl audio C5 6.5 inch components passive crossed over at 80 hertz 24db per octave in the front doors. The doors were treated to 3 layers of STP sound proofing on the inner door skin and the inside of the door panel plastic. we also had to space the mid bass driver out 1.5 inch with mdf to get the proper clearance. (STP sound proofing was also used on the rear deck, trunk lid, trunk floor and under seats.)

The rear doors have kenwood excellon KFC-X1730 6.5 in coaxial running at 150hz 24 db per octave.

We custom fabricated a small sealed enclosure for to Jl audio 6 inch mid bass drivers (6w3 v3-4 wired in series) between the 2 rear seats where the factory arm rest use to be. We are running those of ch 7 of the bit one active with a band pass frequency between 175hz and 80hz 24db per octave. There are powered
by a second XR4s ch 1 and 2 bridged mono. ch 3 and 4 running a set of Hertz 4 inch coaxial as a center channel hi pass 500 hz @ 24 db per octave on ch 8 of the bit one.

For sub we are running a single JL Audio 12w6 v3 with a JL Audio HD 750.1 on ch 5 and 6 of the Bit one with a lo pass signal 80 hz 24 db per octave in a sealed fiberglass box mounted in the left rear corner of the trunk.

This customer loves mid bass and this setup really really works for him.

Because of all the "GO Fast goodies" under the hood (400 hp to the wheels) the customer had us add a custom radar detector with laser jammer Passport 9500ci. We custom mounted the controls for the 9500 and the DRC for the Audison Bit one in the location where the factory ash tray use to be.
